WE'RE ON STEAM! (Public Alpha Weekend and More)


Hello everyone! We hope you're well! This devlog is going to be crammed full of goodies for you to enjoy so please, kickback. Grab a cup of tea or coffee (Or whatever beverage quenches your thirst) Don't forget the snacks and let's get into this! 

So, this is War Stained, originally meant to be multiplayer for Triple Tap (Our other game, that's a parody of Zombie games) but we soon realised about a month into development (About 2 days ago as I'm typing this) that what we had made was genuinely awesome and we couldn't pair it with some meme game. 

And now, we have War Stained, a multiplayer First Person Shooter that is meant to be quite casual and fun, with a hint of skill used too. 

Now I (Dekki, the developer. Hello btw ) and a few friends of mine who have been helping me along the way (Thanks guys, you're truly awesome) Have been playing a lot of War Stained behind the scenes and have fallen in absolute love. The game feels amazing, runs really smooth, haven't had too many bugs, etc etc.


So, I'm here to announce that WE GOT ON STEAM! (The store page is still being set up so you might not be able to access it yet. But our prices have been made to reflect the same as steam's price for the game upon release, by buying the game on Itch.io you are essentially pre-ordering it! But, please don't stress and don't fear. For we have another thing coming...


Hopefully this weekend (If we get the green light in time) we will be hosting our first Public Alpha of War Stained! It'll obviously be through steam, where you can register free of charge, and once you're accepted by myself or one of my lovely workers, you'll be able to install and play a very early build of War Stained. Now I've been making some updates behind the scenes and although you guys won't really know what's happened I'm going to include some update change notes for you guys, and then post more about what I plan to add going forward and building up to release day, which, again. We now have one, War Stained is set to release November 9th 2021. We hope to see you there!


War stained Alpha Weekend Patch notes: 

Weapon Changes;

Buffed shotgun damage to 35 (was 25)

Nerfed shotgun range massively (No more cross map one taps with a shotgun)

Increased AR vertical recoil slightly

Increased AR damage to 34 (was 20) 

Slighty decreased LMG vertical recoil

Decreased LMG Damage to 25 (was 35)


UI changes; 

Changed the Main Menu to say "War Stained Public Alpha" rather than "FPS Game"

Added a happy little note under the buttons ;)



Future changes: 

All the current things here are planned to be put in BEFORE release.

- New AI

- AI Difficulty

- Round System

- Choosing Spawn

- ability to throw health/ammo to your teammates

- Map rotation

- Automatic Team Balancing

Plus...

A ZOMBIES MODEEEE! 


The zombie's mode will definitely be closer to release, 

And may even be a DLC.


By the time the Alpha is finished, I plan to have fixed weapon textures so you can see what gun you're using.


During the Alpha, we will be hosting a competition for the best clips you can make! The clips that make it in will be included in our next big trailer and anyone who has a winning clip will be compensated!


I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way of getting this far, and I cannot wait to see how much further we can go. I cannot wait to see you guys in-game when the Alpha goes live! I will of course be posting updates here to keep you all posted!
